Inital Inspirations

I came across these images on 'Deerlings & Ghostthings' blog. This style of cropping images would work well in my shoot as although the hair, make-up and overall styling is very important, the main emphasis will on the jewellery i have made. The set-up in the second picture would be ideal to show off a ring or hair accessory. The styling in this shoot is very simple and neutral - something i would like to develop for my shoot as it provides a blank canvas for the jewellery to really stand out against, rather than being swamped by busy colours and patterns.

These images has soft lighting which gives a romantic, girly, dreamy mood to the image. Although i love this effect, it works particularly well here as the pose, location and styling are all very innocent and pretty, so this lighting might not suit a shoot which is more grungy. This is something i will have to come back to and consider once i have developed my ideas for the shoot, alot of which may come from the final jewellery pieces.
I was particularly drawn to the blurred movement in first image, but shooting in this way will mean less focus on the jewellery as you won't be able to make it out very clearly, so this technique i feel is best left to a garment with a strong silhouette.
